Set within our handsome Victorian building, the Royal’s 60 bedrooms blend character with a clean, contemporary feel. Every room is a one-off in shape and layout, dressed in calm neutral tones with a few bold touches. Beds are seriously comfortable, lighting is thoughtful, and the overall effect is uncluttered and relaxing—ideal whether you’re here for work, a gig, or a weekend in the city centre.

We offer a mix of room types to suit different stays. Friendly Doubles are compact and great value; Standard Doubles give you extra breathing space; Superior Doubles (our largest rooms) add a touch of luxury with a king-size bed, 50″ HD TV, mini-fridge and bathrobes; Twins are perfect for friends or colleagues; Triples add flexible sleeping arrangements for small groups or families; and our two Cinema Rooms dial up the fun with a big-screen setup for films and games.

If you have a preference—higher or lower floor, bath or walk-in shower, quieter aspect or a city view—tell us after booking and we’ll do our best to allocate accordingly (subject to availability). Housekeeping keeps everything fresh and tidy, and our team is on hand around the clock if you need anything during your stay.
